Rotary tablet press is a continuous pressing equipment that compresses powder or granular materials into tablets through a mold system. The core components include: turntable, upper punch, lower punch, middle mold, feeder, pressure wheel system, electronic control system, etc. The entire working process involves completing multiple steps such as filling, pressing, and dispensing while the turntable rotates.
Work cycle process
The entire tablet pressing process is divided into the following five main steps, which are carried out in a cyclic manner:
Feeding
The raw materials enter the feeder through the hopper (forced or gravity type).
The feeder evenly distributes the material into the mold holes in the turntable.
At this stage, the lower punch is located at the lowest position, forming a container cavity to receive the material.
Pre Compression (available on some models)
The upper and lower pressure wheels are used to preliminarily press the material.
The purpose is to exhaust air, improve molding density, and enhance the final tablet quality.
Main Compression
Apply high pressure between two main pressure wheels to compress the material into tablets through upward and downward flushing.
The main pressure is the core step that determines the hardness, density, and thickness of the tablet.
Ejection
The downward movement will push the formed tablet out of the middle mold hole.
At the same time, keep the upward punch at a high position to avoid causing secondary compression on the tablet.
Tablets slide into the discharge port through the discharge chute.
Mold Reset
Go up and down to the starting position to prepare for the next tablet pressing cycle.
The middle mold rotates to enter the next filling position.
